Technology Tools Scrapbook 2015

This Scrapbook will showcase these features in the coming weeks

  • social networking/media
  • a tool for asynchronous communication
  • a tool for synchronous communication
  • an example of ready-made content
  • some content you’ve produced on your own
  • an assessment or survey tool
  • an elective …. something new you’d like to try
  • Good Blog on Presentations

For a blog that would be helpful for my students, I decided to focus on one of the courses I teach, Public Speaking for Professionals. In this course I have students from business, computing, health, as well as arts and science majors, so the classroom is very diverse. This blog from presentation magazine is a nice example of a generalized blog written by a variety of contributors that can be helpful for students with diverse interests and career goals.

One way I could use this blog in my course would be to make an assignment that students should follow the blog and have them post a response to three posts of their choosing sometime during the semester on an personal journal hosted on Blackboard. T

His way the students could select which articles they though wer the most interesting or applicable to their interests, and they would be able to relate the articles to the speeches they are required to present during the semester.
